Overview

HI 8424 is one of the most popular pH meters on the market. By utilizing a custom microprocessor, the HI 8424 is able to perform pH, ORP and temperature measurements with a high degree of accuracy with fast response.

Calibration is automatic at 1 or 2 points with 3 memorized buffer values (pH 4.01, pH 7.01 and pH 10.01). Once the instruments has been calibrated, the buffers values used during calibration are displayed with tags on the large, back-lit LCD. This feature keeps the users informed of the current calibration and helps to avoid taking measurements that are out of range.

The mV scale auto-ranges and changes resolution from 0.1 to 1 mV when readings exceed ±699.9 mV. The extended range allows more flexibility in ORP measurements.

pH slope changes due to variation in temperature are automatically or manually compensated for.

The HOLD function freezes the reading on the LCD to be manually recorded.
